About Us
Who We Are as Awana Service
Awana International Clubs aim to assist local churches in their ministry with children and youth. Our goal is to bring Christ to every youth, discipling and training them for service.
Special Prayer for Awana Service
We pray that all children and youth around the world come to know, love, and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Mission
To empower Christian leaders worldwide to teach children about the knowledge, love, and service of the Lord Jesus.
Our Focus:
Training and preparing leaders from around the world for the discipleship of children and the creation of effective and influential families, aiming for them to become followers and disciples of the Lord Jesus.
Guiding Principles of Awana International:

- In all we do, led by the Holy Spirit, we focus our gaze on the Lord Jesus. We value teamwork and collaboration.
- We prioritize the mission over methodology, ensuring the unchanging message of salvation.
- We aim to serve God's Kingdom, providing churches and leaders with training and resources to reach beyond our current capabilities.
- We value long-term discipleship for children and leaders.
- We strive to activate service, embracing opportunities rather than letting them pass.
- We will measure key service aspects for accountability.
- We are committed to partnering with churches and international organizations to fulfill the Great Commission: "Go and preach to all nations."

What makes Awana different?
Principle One
Awana’s Service Should Be Based on the Gospel (Good News):
The Gospel, the message of Jesus Christ, is the most important information anyone can hear. Awana’s mission is to clearly present this message to youth and their families. We must equip every Awana leader with the tools to share this “message of salvation” and seize every opportunity to share it with children and their families.
How is this Principle Applied in Awana Service?
The Gospel is preached to children at every stage of the program. Some children attend Awana once and leave with a clear understanding of the message of salvation. Awana’s curriculum, known as “Truth Seekers,” is biblically based—from creation to Christ. Additionally, Awana training, called “Seed Sowers,” teaches our leaders how to present our training, materials, awards, and Bible competitions in our service.
Second Principle
Awana’s service should include a significant amount of memorized Scripture:
Knowing Scripture transforms us (shapes our identity). Awana believes that God’s Word must be memorized and lived out through our lives.
How is this principle applied in Awana’s ministry?
In teaching, booklets, the curriculum called “Seekers of Truth,” our awards, and Bible competitions (wherever applicable).
“I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You.” (Psalm 119:11)
Principle Three
Service must be engaging and exciting for youth and teenagers:
We’ve all heard the famous saying, “If a child enjoys their time, they will pay attention and listen to what you say.” This applies to the church, clubs, and even schools. Club programs should be interesting; if they are, children will return and invite their friends to join them.
How is this principle applied in Awana service?
Through time-limited games, …, …, and awarded prizes.
Principle Four
Young people should be taught and trained to serve as soon as they are qualified for service. If all we do is teach youth to study God’s Word, we are not doing enough. Many people absorb knowledge like a sponge but never pass it on to others. If we do not also teach our students how to give back to others and the community, we are harming them more than helping them.
Application of this Principle in Awana Service:
In L.I.T. lectures, youth programs incorporate service projects, and T&T booklets include application activities.
Fifth Principle
Service must be based on leadership skills:
The quality and effectiveness of service programs depend on the quality of leadership skills. The main reason for churches withdrawing from Awana service is the lack of good leadership skills. Well-educated and trained leaders are committed to establishing strong, lasting clubs.
How is this principle applied in Awana service?
Through Awana service conferences, tailored training for leaders, and annual leadership training conferences.“And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” (2 Timothy 2:2)
